Read in English →Instituto Verbo Zin ("we") develops and provides free Bible apps and maintains the verbozin.org portal. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle users' information. We take your privacy seriously.
1. Data collected by the apps
Our Bible apps are designed to work in a simple way that respects your privacy. The apps do not collect, do not store on servers and do not share users' personal data.
- They require no registration, login or account creation.
- They do not collect name, email, location or personal identifiers.
- Settings such as font size, theme and reading marks, where they exist, are stored only on the user's own device and are not sent to us.
- They display no ads and use no advertising trackers.
2. Data on the portal (verbozin.org)
On the portal, some data may be provided voluntarily by the user, for example:
- When making a donation, the data required for payment is processed by the payment providers (PayPal and Pix/Cora). We do not store full card data.
- When filling in contact or newsletter forms, we collect only the data provided (such as name and email), used exclusively to respond to the contact or send requested communications.
- On the Where to Give page (in-kind donations), we collect name, WhatsApp, neighborhood and a description of the donation (and, for church sign-ups, the organization and contact person names), used only to organize the donation and point to the partner project or church that will receive it. We do not ask for your address on the website: it is arranged directly over WhatsApp with whoever will pick up. This data is restricted to the Board, is never shown publicly and is kept for up to 12 months after pickup, then deleted. To request deletion sooner, write to [email protected] or [email protected].
3. Use and protection of data
Any data provided on the portal is used only for the purpose for which it was given (to respond to contact, process a donation, send the newsletter), based on the data subject's consent (art. 7, I, of the LGPD) or, where applicable, on the Institute's legitimate interest in fraud prevention and security (art. 7, IX). We do not sell, rent or share this data with third parties for commercial purposes. We process data in compliance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13.709/2018 — LGPD).
4. Third-party services and international transfer
Donation processing uses PayPal and Pix (via Cora), which have their own privacy policies. Distribution of the apps occurs through Google Play, subject to Google's policy. PayPal is a US company; when processing a donation via PayPal, the data required for payment may be transferred to servers outside Brazil, under PayPal's own contractual and compliance safeguards.
5. Children
Our apps have content that is free and suitable for all ages, but they are not specifically directed at children and do not intentionally collect data from minors. Photos and videos of children served by supported projects follow a stricter, separate rule: no image is published without specific authorization from a parent or legal guardian, under art. 14, para. 1, of the LGPD — see our image policy.
6. Data retention
We keep the data provided for as long as necessary for the purpose that motivated its collection: contact data, until the response and for up to 12 months for service history; donation data, for the period required by tax and accounting legislation applicable to non-profit associations. After that period, the data is deleted or anonymized, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
7. Your rights
Under art. 18 of the LGPD, you may request at any time: confirmation that processing exists; access to the data; correction of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data; anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary data or data processed in violation of the law; portability to another provider; information on who we share your data with; and withdrawal of consent. Requests can be made at any time via the email below.
8. Data Protection Officer (DPO)
The Institute maintains a single channel for data protection matters, handled by the Data Protection Officer.
